Istanbul Park Circuit History
Despite appreciated as a spectacular and extremely exciting track by both drivers and spectators, the Turkish Grand Prix had a quite short visit on the Formula One Calendar: from the inauguration in 2005 to the last Turkish Grand Prix in 2011. The reasons for terminating the Istanbul Park event root in financial disagreements and difficulties. The track has also been criticized by drivers for becoming bumpy a few rounds into the weekend’s races.
